1. CLASS:

Dear Parent

Welcome to Wordsmith Learning Hub Pte Ltd !

We are publishers of Assessment Books, strategically designed to improve grades within short period. We are coaching with shortcuts and strategy based teaching methods to help the student to study with ease. We impart EQ skills like Confidence Building, Self Discipline, Self Motivation, Time/Stress Management in class rooms through Videos / Posters / FB Live / Zoom to bring holistic growth within students for fast improvement.

Please take note of the below important information:-

1. (a) Students should be punctual to class on time. Regular attendance is very important - must WhatsApp to admin in advance in +65 9850 0479, if they couldn’t attend any class. Regular attendance is crucial to understand classes without gap and to bring grade improvement.
2. (b) All exams papers (2/4 Semesters) original / copy need to be given before finally returning to school for our review (returned back immediate next class). This is to understand the student’s area of weakness and to work on it. This is MANDATORY, if not given, not in the position to know the performance at school, to help the students.
3. (c) Students must complete all the homework given in class without any excuses. If students not complete it, parents should write a note to tutor the valid reason for not doing in the homework notebook (Blue). Absentee should get the homework details from a class WA group, get it done before coming for next class. Otherwise, next class will not be productive for your child, when teacher go through the HW given.
4. (d) Students should bring Wordsmith File and all the Notes / Materials /Books for every class to do work and reference purpose.
5. For Tamil Paper 3 - LC(Audio) + Oral (Video) will be charged $60 (non-refundable) for Jan/July semester based-one time payment. Materials will be given separately to all types of courses which will be subject to monthly / term based charges added apart from coaching fees. Please buy extra Book/titles separate at Wordsmith for home practises at Serangoon (Main Centre) Branch or order online www.wordsmith-edu.com.
6. Please note to make Fee’s payment within the due date - 25^thto 30^thtowards next month class. If they are 5 classes in that month, fee’s will be prorated and amount sent through WhatsApp from admin desk. $10/- will be charged as late fee, if there in delay in payment every day after the due date, no waiver for late fee due to extra admin work.
7. Students will be placed in the respective suitable class according to their ability level not on their school class level.
8. Peak hours charges for Fri / Sat and Sun - $10 per month applies for all classes

TERMS & CONDITIONS 2

I, the parent /guardian (the “parent”) of the student (the “student”), hereby agree to the following terms and conditions (the “general terms” ):

INTERPRETATION:

1. In these terms & conditions, the following words and phrases shall bear the following meanings, unless the context requires otherwise:
• “Academic year” means an academic year at the centre ,which runs from 1^stDecember to 30th November of the following year
• “One full calendar month” means a full month commencing on the 1st day of a calendar month and ending on the last day of that calendar month
• “Wordsmith” or “centre” means “Wordsmith Learning Hub Pte Ltd”, and where the context so admits, any legal entity which run coaching classes /enrichment/ academic programmes under the “Wordsmith Learning Hub Pte Ltd.
• “Centre” means the wordsmith education centre as indicated on the registration/renewal form.

CONDITIONS OF REGISTRATION:

2. The enrolment /continued enrolment of the student in the course(s) indicated on the registration / renewal form (the registered course(s) shall be conditional upon , inter alia: (a) Purchase of the prescribed books for the registered course(s) (if applicable) and material fee is monthly / term based collected; (b) Advance payment of the monthly / term based course fee(s) for all the registered course(s) on or before the last day of each calendar month. Late charges of $10/- will be levied for all the payment received after last working day of the month. $10/- will be charged as late fee, if there in delay in payment every day after the due date, no waiver for late fee due to extra admin work. Fees are subject to changes upto $10, due if there is any increase in fixed cost etc, unavoidable circumstances.
3. Now withstanding anything in these terms, the student is not entitled to receive any materials for any classes which he or she not paid for. In the event that the student is registered for any of the registered course(s) after an academic year has begun, the student shall be entitled to receive worksheets only from the date on which he or she begins attending the registered course(s).
4. Classes will not be held on the eve of Chine se New Year, the eve of Hari Raya Puasa, the eve of Deepavali and any other public holidays which may be gazetted by the Government of the Singapore from time to time. If class day falls on public holiday, no make-up classes will be scheduled, and no refund of course fees will be given in lieu of any classes which would otherwise have been held on the aforementioned days. But, additional homework given during those weeks and go through it in the immediate next class.
5. Wordsmith shall not be obliged to refund any part of the monthly / term based course fees in the event that the current student fails to attend any class in the registered courses for any reason whatsoever. One full calendar month notice on 24th need to be served, last class on end of next month, if not done, then the deposit amount will be forfeited. Subject to these general terms and in the event that the current student does not turn up for classes and the fees for that month remain unpaid, the fees top up need to be done, if deposit is not sufficient to serve one full calendar month notice.
6. Make-up classes can be scheduled for MCs or school activities with relevant proof submitted through our right system at Wordsmith. You may have to attend a zoom recording that can be provided if available. In other branches or online option based on availability which will be conveyed to you, but zoom recording can be provided, informed us before and if available passed over to you. Makeup classes for any other reasons will not be accepted. Full / Half month or Pro-rated fees during school holidays will not be accepted / class zoom recording can be provided, only if informed and arrange ahead of the travel plans, not after coming back. Only in Dec month, there is an exemption for full month fees exemption during vacation.
7. Normally, fee for 4 classes per month will be collected. If there is 5th class comes in any month , there will be additional fee for that month alone, which will be intimated to the parents. In case there is any rental or fixed cost increase, we need to increase the fees from that particular month, parents should understand and accommodate to serve the students better.
8. Withdrawal under the Parent Portal must be submitted at least one full calendar month before the student’s withdrawal for any of the registered course(s). Parents need to log in to their portal to submit the withdrawal, and the last week class of the student will be displayed after clicking the withdrawal button.In the event that less than one full calendar month notice is given, Wordsmith shall not be obliged to refund the deposit. The deposit paid shall be used to offset the last month’s fees, only after giving the required notice period.

For Primary 3 – Secondary 5:

If the notice for withdrawal is submitted before 20th of the month (e.g., 1st–20th May), then the last class will be in the end week of June.

If the withdrawal is done between 21st to 31st May, then the last class will be in the end week of July.

For Preschool, Primary 1 & Primary 2:

If the notice for withdrawal is submitted before 5th of the month (e.g., 1st–5th May), then the last class will be in the end week of June.

If the withdrawal is done between 6th May to 31st May, then the last class will be in the end week of July.

The deposit will be forfeited if the withdrawal terms are not followed as agreed above.

9. In the event that a parent decides to withdraw a student (regardless of reasons) before the registered course(s) commence(s), the deposit and fees, will be forfeited. The one full calendar month written notice in clause 8 will not be applicable in this instance.
10. Unless otherwise stated, all monies paid are non-refundable and non-transferable to another student, regardless of whether the registered course(s) has/have commenced.
11. Slot timing / tutor fixed are subject to changes, due to unavoidable circumstances. If no demand for the class due to odd timing or due to any reason- less than 3 students in one class, even based on the students’ performance, students may be transferred to different types of class as One to One / Small Group / Group Class etc. after discussion with the parent. Fee’s adjustments / class timing will be changed as per the student / tutor time availability after approval from the parent. If not suitable for parents, Please give one full calendar month notice period and withdraw at unavoidable situation.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & MEDIA RIGHTS:

12. Unless stated otherwise, wordsmith owns the intellectual property and /or licensing rights subsisting in all worksheets and other study materials distributed or used during the registered course(s), and both the parent and the student are prohibited from copying, reproducing, modifying, distributing, displaying, performing or transmitting in any form or by any means whatsoever (including mechanical, electronic, recording, photocopying or otherwise) the above mentioned worksheets and other study materials without wordsmith’s prior written permission.
13. Wordsmith shall have the right to copy, reproduce, display, distribute, and use any photographs or videos taken of the student during the registered courses , as well as any intellectual property produced by the student as part of the registered course(s),
14. We may use retargeting technology via cookies
15. Wordsmith shall be allowed to publish the student’s academic achievements in any form or media at any time, even after the student has withdrawn from the centre.
